Study on AC Interference Mitigation Design Methods for Buried Pipelines
With rapid development of infrastructure in the recent years, more and more buried pipelines are laid parallel with or adjacent to high-voltage transmission lines, and severe AC interference is caused. Therefore, an effective mitigation scheme is very important in reducing the AC interference risks. In this work two different mitigation scheme design methods are studied for two practical cases. One is for single point, in which a temporary mitigation ground bed is buried and then the required bed resistance is estimated based on the resistance of temporary bed above and its mitigation result. The other method is to use computer software and AC interference model, in which the mitigation results are compared for different schemes and thus the best bed laying method is determined. The detection of AC interference, mitigation design and evaluation effect are introduced in this paper, which is valuable to provide reference for the mitigation scheme design of practical engineering projects
