(0) Equipment and pipeline corrosion monitoring and controls technology is of paramount importance for all chemical and refining operations.Maintaining equipment integrity is essential for not only safety but also for operating a business to the best potential possible.There are many options available for corrosion monitoring and controls in each industry.While each process may be different,it is up to the facility to determine their needs and which type of technique works best for their process.There are many options available for corrosion measurement to include,non-intrusive,intrusive,in line inspection,chemical testing,and electrochemistry.The proper procedures and monitoring can be the determining factor on how the facility can minimize downtime as well as preventing catastrophic equipment failures.This paper illustrates the various corrosion monitoring techniques available and the need for control monitoring techniques.The options for the facility are clearly defined as to advantages and disadvantages along with a clear description of what each method can offer.This paper,therefore,seeks to emphasize that there are many options for a facility to choose from in corrosion control and how to utilize available monitoring techniques.
