Current Informations on Usage and Application of Waterproofing Admixture in the Concrete Structures in Korea
This paper intends to examine the general procedures required in the usage and application of the waterproofing admixture in concrete structures.Procedures will include steps such as, mechanical analysis, overall causes and effects, and criteria on quality Construction based waterproofing admixtures can indeed enhance the watertightness, strength and Shrinkage resistance, but it cannot eliminate the inherent weaknesses of concrete materials in that come in the form of cracks, joints, and form-tie, pockets, etc.Hence it is advisable to thoroughly investigate the exact relation and interaction between waterproofing admixtures and concretes.To assure long-lasting safety and durability in concrete structures, we propose that it is prudent to always employ supplementary layers and levels of waterproofing in concrete structures even in the cases where waterproofing admixtures are used.
