Effects of Zr(Ⅳ)on the surfacue morphology and anticorrosion performance of trivalent chromium based conversion coating on zinc
The trivalent chromium based conversion coating on zinc,based on chromium sulfate with Zr(Ⅳ) ions.The corrosion resistance of trivalent chromium passivation coating, measured in 3.5 wt% NaC1solution using anodic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), was sensitive to immersion time.A modified equivalent circuit obtained from EIS analysis, could explain the corrosion behavior of the trivalent chromium passivation coating on zinc.Results showed that Zr(Ⅳ) ions can improve significantly the corrosion resistance on zinc.It was revealed the Zr(IⅣ) can improve corrosion resistance of trivalent chromium passivation coating.
