Study on Separation of Glycolic Acid with Complexing Extraction method

The extraction of glycolic acid from the EDTA synthetic solution with tri-n-octylamine(TOA) in diluents of 1-octanol was investigated in this article.The influences of TOA and l-octanol concentration, initial concentration of glycolic acid, extraction temperature, time and phase ratio on the glycolic acid distribution coefficient were studied.The bonding mechanism of the complexing extraction of glycolic acid was obtained by the infrared spectrogram of glycolic acid in organic phase, and the combination of the extracted complex between acid and TOA was confirmed through the description of the extraction equilibrium.
