Progress and Applied Prospect of MCT

　　Definition and development of medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) are introduced, especially on their physical properties, synthetic methods, applied fields and prospects.MCT has been extensively applied in fields of foodstuff, pharmacy and cosmetics owing to their excellent properties.There are 4 methods of preparation of MCT: hydrolysis esterification, alcoholysis, enzymatic and microwave methods.The enzymatic method is the main point of research.Right now the market demand of MCT in China is vigorous and much attention should be paid to research/ development of MCT.
