International Activities for Photobiological Issues of Lighting Products

　　This paper describes the photobiological activities relating to lighting products in CIE and IEC.The photobiological safety of lamps and lamp systems,especially LED products is currently a hot topic in development of the international standards.The measurement of blue light hazard radiance based on the eye simulating optics is presented for risk group classification of LED products.The study and standardization for positive effects of light and lighting are emerging in CIE Division 6.However,how to evaluate the effective effects of wavelength dependence for optical radiation to human health is a critical issue.
