Small Dot Pitch LED Display With COB Packaging Technique
LED display is applied in advertising,transportation,information release,etc.Traditional LED display module includes LED board,driving PCB,plastic mask and back shell.The dot pitch of traditional LED display is 2.0mm above and cannot be reduced anymore.In some applications,such as mobile screen,small dimension TV,etc.,the ultra-compact dot pitch(<=1.5 mm) LED display is needed.This paper introduces a new type of LED display called COB LED display and its design and manufacturing technique are discussed.The dot pitch of the new type COB LED display can be 0.5mm using the new technology introduced in this paper.The mono-color and full-color COB LED display module are discussed and the reliability of the COB LED display is also analyzed.The wire tensile test,thermal test and thermal cycle test results proved that the COB LED display is feasible and reliable.
