Analysis of Polychlorinated Biphenyls Congeners in Soil Samples by Real-time Immuno-PCR assay

  A novel real-time immuno-PCR (RT-IPCR) assay for the determination of 3,4-dichlorinated biphenyl (IUPAC PCB12) is described in this paper.Using the optimized assay,the linear range for the determination of PCB12 was found to be 10.0 fg mL-1 to 1.0 ng mL-1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.987 and a detection limit of 1.53 fg mL-1.The RT-IPCR assays were tested for their cross-reactivity profiles using four selected congeners and four Aroclor products.The assays were highly specific for the congeners; however,they were less specific for Aroclor 1242.The RT-IPCR results for the soil samples correlated with the concentrations of PCBs obtained by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.
