Study On the Breaking Characteristics of Low Voltage DC Circuit Breaker in the Low-current Situation
The influence of the arc slot and electrode distance on the arc volt-ampere characteristic when breaking low DC current in this paper.One model is designed which has an arc chamber without splitter plates and an electrode system without magnetic field blowing the arc.The parameters of the slot and distance in the model are alterable.The capacitor bank circuit is used to provide the test power.Arc current and voltage are also measured to analyze the arc characteristic.Several volt-ampere characteristic curves are given.The study shows that the sensitivity of are voltage-current characteristic curve to electrode distance is higher when the slot is smaller.
