Laparoscopic Caudate Lobectomy in Hilar Cholangiocarcinoma
Objective: the study was to evaluate the feasibility and safety of laparoscopic caudate lobectomy in hilar cholangiocarcinoma.Materials and Methods: From February to April 2012, two patients with diagnosis of hilar cholangiocarcinomawere carried out laparoscopic radical resection with caudate lobectomy in our department.Results: The operation was successfully performed, the operative time ranged from 510 minutes to 540 minutes and the intraoperative blood loss was from 500 ml to 800 ml.Insufficiency of cholangioenterostomy occurred in one patients that was cured with conservative treatment.They were discharged from the hospital in good condition.All patients were histologically diagnosed as cholangiocarcinoma.The proximal resection margins were cancer-negative in 2 patients.There was no complication during 12 months of follow up.Conclusions: kaparoscopic caudate lobectomy in hilarcholangiocarcinoma is feasible and worthwhile.
