Dynamics of jujube forest sap flow in the semiarid Loess Plateau, Northern Shaanxi
The Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi is arid, thus dynamics of jujube sap flow is important in further improving jujube water use efficiency.Application the sap flow system simultaneously monitored and analyzed sap flow dynamics and impact factors of jujube forest from May to August.The results showed that:l) The jujube tree sap flow represented a single peak in the hour scale, while followed a narrow-broad-narrow peak change pattern among different phonological periods.2) The vapor pressure deficit (VPD), photosynthetically active radiatiou (PAR) had significant impacts on sap flow velocity, though the effect of photosynthetically active radiation was more significant.3) Both vapor pressure deficit (VPD) and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) manifested lag response to flow velocity, in order to avoid water overexploitation and fulfill conservative use of water.
