Effects of Bufalin Combined with Microwave Radiation on the proliferation in HepG2
Bufalin, a naturally occurring small-molecule compound from Traditional Chinese Medicine Chan su showed inhibitory effects against many cancer cells.In the study, we apply bufalin with microwave together to the medical treatment of hepatic cancer.We investigated the effects on the cell proliferation and apoptosis of cultured HepG2 ceils by a MTT assay and morphological examination.The effect of bufalin on the cell cycle of HepG2 was also determined by flow cytometry.The expression of apoptosis-related molecules was also examined in HepG2 using Western blot analysis.Bufalin combined with microwave significantly inhibited the cell proliferation and induced apoptosis.Western blot results show that bufalin reduced the antiapoptotic/proapoptotic Bcl-2/Bax ratio and increased caspased-3 activity.Therefore, bufalin combined with microwave could be used as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of hepatic cancer.
