Analysis of the development of ISSI and Scientometrics and Informetrics:A view of ISSI conference papers
In order to reflect the development and evolution of scientometrics and informetrics, this paper selected the ISSI conference papers from CPCI-S and CPCI-SSH databases as the sample dataset.Statistical and visualization software were used to analyse the dataset from aspects of spatial and temporal distribution, core papers, core authors, international collaboration and the evolution of conference topics and focuses.It concludes that: 1) The overall number of conference papers shows growing trend, and the research force of Scientometrics and Informetrics is located mainly in European region, such as Spain, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Germany.Furthermore, the host of ISSI conference will encourage participation of the local researchers.2) Researches on citation analysis, bibliometrics analysis, bibliometric indicators, Science Citation Index, and impact factor receive the most concern.Themes of the conference papers were under guidance of ISSI conference topics, and in turn will help decide the future ISSI conference topics.3) China is the only country which shows growth both in number and percentage of conference papers, but gap still exists between China and the world average in the influence of ISSI conference papers.
