Antibacterial activity of lansiumamide B to tobacco bacterial wilt (Ralstonia Solanacearum)
Tobacco bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum is one of the most serious soils borne disease of tobacco. It has caused severe economic losses in recent years.Although there are many traditional strategies to control tobacco bacterial wilt such as agricultural measures (control), chemical (control) and biological control, but there is no effective control method for tobacco bacterial wilt disease, controlling of plant bacterial diseases has long been a challenging mission in tobacco growing areas throughout the world. It is still difficult to control Granville wilt with effective measures.Developing new antibacterial agents in tobacco will make great practical sense.Lansiumamide B with strong inhibitory effects on R.solanacearum in vitro was isolated from the seeds of Clausena lansium. Its antibacterial activity against R.solanacearum was reported for the first time. The R.solanacearum grows best in relatively high humidity and temperatures conditions. The R.solanacearum were cultured on nutrient agar plates, then treated with Lansiumamide B at a serial concentrations to study their minimum inhibitory concentration, the result indicated that the Lansiumamide B can inhibit the growth of tobacco R.Solanacearum completely at the concentration of 125 mg/L.The antibacterial activity of the different diluted concentrations of Lansiumamide B on Tobacco R.Solanacearum tested with oxford plate assay system, the results showed that the antibacterial activity increased with the increase of treated concentration linearly(r=0.9956).The EC50 and EC90 for the Lansiumamide B against R.Solanacearum were 48.82 mg/L and 86.26 mg/L.(Pot experiments were conducted to evaluate the control efficiency of the Lansiumamide B,) In pot experiment, the control efficiency of Lansiumamide B on tobacco bacterial wilt were 95.84%(7d), 91.67%(14d) and 86.38%(21d), its control efficiency is nearly 40 times than Streptomycin after 21days irrigated. The Lansiumamide B had high antibacterial activity and application prospects in plant-derived antibacterial agents. It would develop as a new type of plant-type antibiotics or a new antibacterial drug.
