Isolation and insecticidal activity of actinomycetesfrom soil of Tibetan Plateau, China
The aim of this study is to isolate and screening actinomycetes with insecticidal activity from soil of Tibetan plateau, and to evaluate their efficacy as biological control agents against agricultural pests. We selectively isolated actinomycetes from soils of Tibetan plateau and screened their insecticidal activity. The preliminary extraction and isolation of isolate CK-17 were carried out.The taxonomy of isolates with strong insecticidal activity was confirmed. In total 227 isolates were obtained and examined through primary screening, 24 isolates showed bioactivity against brine shrimp.Of the 24 isolates, four isolates, was found to have strong insecticidal activity against 4th-instar larvae of Culex pipiens pallens.Different insecticidal activities were exhibited by bioassay of four isolates against Myzus persicae, Tetranychus cinnabarinus and Plutella xylostella larvae. The preliminary ananlysis of molecular phylogenetics revealed that these four strains were confirmed to the genus Streptomyces. All of four isolates are valuable for further study.
