Study on process of ultra-low sulfur steel
This paper study on two process routes of ultra-low sulphur steel,”Hot metal desulphurization-Basic oxygen furnace-Ladle powder injection-LF refining” and ” Hot metal desulphurization-Basic oxygen furnace-LF refining”,that conclude the first route can achieve the fast production of ultra-low sulfur steel,Ladle powder injection cycle less than 19min,LF refining desulfurization cycle is less than 30min;The second route must strengthen sulfur content control before LF refining and must ensure a sufficiently long period,can make the sulfur content requirements that the sulphur content control below 0.008% before LF refining and refining cycle more than 40min,the control of sulfur content of less than 0.0010% can meet the requirements of the product by the two process routes.
