The application and improvement of new FM descaling box on 1580 mm hot rolling mill
In 2011,a new type FM descaling box has been applied on 1580 mm hot rolling mill plant,Baosteel Co,Ltd.In the new type FM descaling box,the header is divided into two parts,which are called center part and edge part controlled separately.For using new nozzles,the new type descaling box can save a lot of water and electric energy.Meanwhile the distance between the nozzle and strip is decreased,the hitting force is increased and temperature drop is decreased when bar passes the FM descaling box.After the new type descaling box has been fixed,some surface problems of strip occured soon,which induced a lot of defect coils.After fix cooling water and make adjustment,the temperature of roll surface decreased,meanwhile the oxide film of work roll in FM is better than before,which is useful to control the surface quality of strip.
