Effects of nonmetallic inclusions on drawing properties of cold sheets rolled with compact strip production strips
The nonmetallic inclusions were studied for drawable quality ( CQ) cold sheets and deep drawable quality ( DDQ) cold sheets rolled with compact strip production ( CSP) hot strips. The quantity, type and morphology of nonmetallic inclusions were investigated. The results have shown that DDQ cold sheets only contain fine globular A1203 inclusions with diameter of less than 6 pdm, while both fine globular A1203 inclusions and complex inclusions, such as elliptical aluminate inclusion Mg0.Ca0.A1203 and banding calcium aluminate inclusion ( Ca0) m.( A1203) n,exist in DQ cold sheets. Moreover, poor drawing property of DQ cold sheets results from the more inclusions in microstructure. Therefore,it is necessary to control chemical composition of steel during refining in order to improve the drawing property when DQ cold sheets are produced with CSP hot strips.
