Multivariable optimisation of flatness control strategies for cold rolling of thin strip
In cold rolling process of thin strip,flatness control is an integral component of modern mill.In this paper,two typical flatness control systems,pattern recognition flatness control system and multivariable flatness control,are discussed in detail.It is found that the latter has more effective applications.In this study,the finite element method ( FEM) models of its core parameters,flatness actuator efficiency,are established.Influencing factors,such as the rolling force,bending force as well as the tilting force are discussed.Adjustment strategies are proposed for flatness defects.The results demonstrate that the control strategies can reduce flatness error and improve the flatness quality.
