Recovery behavior studies of cold rolled steel sheet using X-ray line broadening during rapid heating

Using X-ray diffraction techniques, the recovery behavior characteristics occurred in rapid heating treatment of cold rolled steel sheet have been investigated. The results have indicated that rapid heating caused X- ray diffraction peak shape to excessively change, revealing delay of recovery in cold rolled steel sheet resulted from rapid heating treatment. The main consequence of an increase in heating rate is to raise the temperature of primary recrystallization.Microstructural observations have indicated that this is due to the decreased time available for recovery. After annealing at 640%,for all samples recrystallization occurs are not be found, and the x-ray diffraction peak pattern under two heating rate conditions ( 15 and 300℃/s) is excessively different.Compared with the sample under conditions of rapid annealing, the intensity of x-ray diffraction peaks of low heating treated sample is higher, and the peak center position is moved leftward. This indicates that substantial recovery has been delayed during rapid heating. After annealing at 680℃,for samples under low heating rate conditions recrystallization occurs, but the sample with rapid heat treatment is still in recovery progress, the microstructure of sample consist by the cold rolled deformed fibrous and no recrystallized nucleus be founded. The x-ray diffraction peak shape significantly different from samples with low and high heating rate, and this mostly because they are in different annealing period.
