Effects of austenite deformation on CCT curves and microstructures of advanced atmospheric corrosion resistant steel
The CCT curves of advanced atmospheric corrosion resistant steel were measured using Thermecmastor-z thermal simulator and the effects of austenite deformation on the curves and microstructures under continuous cooling conditions was analyzed. The results showed that the Bs elevated while Bf lowered, and the critical cooling rate preventing ferrite transformation was increased,so the ferrite and bainite transformation were enhanced while martensite transformation was delayed. The microstructures were observed through the optical microscope and the hardness was tested. It was found that the volume fraction of ferrite was increased after austenite deformation when cooling rate below 0.5℃/s;while the matrix microstructure of non-deformation samples were bainite even the cooling rate is 0.1℃/s.The hardness was increased as the cooling rates increases due to the phase transformation strengthening The ferrite-bainite microstructure can be obtained within a large scope of cooling rates.
