This paper will focus on the most important stainless steel reference plants and the main innovative processes developed on stainless steel mills by Danieli Long Products Division.These technologies have been developed in order to fulfill the market growing demand of stainless steel mills combining-on the one hand-high plant productivity and efficiency with a superior quality of the finished products and-on the other hand-extreme process flexibility.The possibility to change process route according to the final application of the rolled steel grade and to simplify production planning is one of the most important keys to success that distinguishes stainless steel plants developed by Danieli.The last generation of on-line heat treatment technologies for stainless steels,presented on this paper,represents the core of Danieli know how on Stainless Steel production.
