Evaluation of the hot permeability in the Alumina-graphite porous materials
A novel technique to evaluate the hot permeability of the porous materials is developed.In the technique the permeability is detected by flowing the Ar gas to the outer surface of the small cylindrical sample.Evaluation became faster and more convenient with highly repeatable data compared to the conventional method to flow the gas into the inner bore of submerged nozzles.Effect of silica content on the permeability of the alumina graphite porous materials was investigated in conjunction with the effectiveness to decrease alumina adhesion in the materials using the new technique.
