Microstructure and texture evolution in twin-roll cast 3.2% Si steel sheet
The microstructure and texture evolution of Fe-3.2qo Si non-oriented silicon steel fabricated by twin-roll casting was investigated.Temperature and strain gradient during casting cause through-thickness inhomogeneity in microstructure and texture. The surface layer displays both recrystallization texture of ”112” <110 > and ”110” <112> components and solidification texture of ”100” <Ovw> component. The center layer however shows recrystallization texture only containing strong ”112” <110> and relatively weak ”100” < Ovw> and ”110” <112> components.Texture and microstructure evolution during casting is explained.
