The value of Dyna CT in the hepatocellular carcinoma treated by transcatheter arterial chemoembolization

Objective:To discuss the value of Dyna CT in the hepatocellular carcinoma treated by transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE).Methods:34 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) underwent Dyna CT and routine digital subtraction angiography (DSA).Liver vessel and tumor were displayed by using of volume rendering technique, maximum intensity projection technique of Dyna CT in multi-direction and multi-series.The shape of superior mesenteric artery (SMA),celiac artery and their branch anatomy were observed. The number and feeding artery of tumor were compared. Results:Among 34 patients, hepatic artery originated from celiac artery was demonstrated by Dyna CT in 32 patients, right hepatic artery originated from SMA and Left hepatic artery originated from common hepatic artery were in 2 patients.4 patients had phrenic artery to provide blood to the tumor.126 lesions were demonstrated by Dyna CT,but routine DSA only demonstrated 98 Lesions. In comparison with routine DSA,Dyna CT has great advantages in demonstration the shape of celiac artery,SMA and their branches, the number and vessels of tumor. Conclusion:Dyna CT is important guidance to TACE.It can help us to decide whether an embolization is possible and which vessels to catheterize. Also it can help us to choose the appropriate shape of catheter and embolic material, further simplify selective catheterization and improve the treatment quality of TACE.
