Measuring Creativity in Singaporean Young Adults
This study seeks to develop the norm of the Wallach-Kogan Creativity Tests (WKCT) for Singaporean young adults.Two versions of the WKCT were randomly administered to 223 undergraduates (M = 20.80,SD = 1.74).The fluency and flexibility norm for the five different WKCT subtests were generated.Inter- item reliability was good for the fluency measurement but not so for the flexibility measurement.Significant format and version differences were found.Fluency for verbal tests was significantly higher than fluency for figure tests.Inherent differences between selected items of the same subtest can exist and different norms should be developed for different items in the same subtest.Establishing a norm for the creativity standards of Singaporean young adults places benchmarks to assess creativity performance,facilitating cross-cultural research and future research on creativity in Singapore.
