The Role of Value-based Social Capital for Donation Behavior The case of social belonging and charity in Switzerland
This study examines the willingness to donate as a form of pro-social behavior,depending on social integration.Using representative data from Switzerland,the hypothesis that people who are more involved in social networks possess a greater willingness to make monetary donations was tested.According to the use of three operationalization of social integration (number of memberships,number of friend and communicative density in the neighborhood) the assumed positive influence on willingness to donate could be confirmed.
