A Moderated Mediation Model of the Relationship between Psychological Safety Climate and Safety Outcomes

Psychological safety climate has been shown to be relevant in general on predicting workplace injuries and accidents. However, after 30 years studying on this topic, there is still a lack of theoretic and conceptual framework of this construct. The current study aims at using psychological safety climate to predict workplace injuries and accidents.Furthermore,We propose to collect hierarchy data to test the explore whether the execution of safety policy or procedure in the form of safety climate will be different as a result of different leadership style and whether supervisor perceived safety climate will related to safety outcomes in a work unit level. Finally a cross level model will be tested to see if leadership style and job strain such as commitment and counterproductive work behavior will perform as cross level moderators of the relationship between safety climates and safety outcomes.
