Hydrogen Content Distribution in and Permeation through Steel Wall of Spherical High Pressure Vessel
Through permeation,hydrogen diffuses in the steel wall of a high pressure vessel,and further diffuses over the wall into the environment.Hydrogen in the steel wall can make the material mechanical properties change.A theoretical model of hydrogen permeation in the steel wall of a high pressure vessel whose outer surface is with a general condition of mass transfer was developed and formulas of hydrogen content in the steel wall and permeation amount into the environment were deduced.Through analytical calculations,curves of hydrogen content in steel wall versus radius and time and accumulative permeation amount versus time were theoretically plotted.These results can be used as premise of analyses of material mechanical properties.
