Graphene oxide as a saturable absorber for2μmthulium-doped fiber laser mode-locking
We demonstrated stable pulses generation at 2μm in a passively mode-locked thulium-doped fiber laser using a self-made graphene oxide saturable absorber.The maximum average output power was 1.8mW and the single pulse energy was 0.56nJ at 3.17MHz repetition rate,and the pulse width was about 30ps.The laser center wavelength and the spectral bandwidth were 2007 nm and 0.3 nm respectively.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first report of graphene oxide saturable absorber for mode-locked 2 μm fiber lasers.
