An OT Account of Shandong Three-toned Dialect:A Case Study of Yantai Dialect

　　The paper is an attempt to account for,within the framework of Optimality Theory,how CR (Register Constraints) and CC (Contour Constraints) interact in the tone sandhi patterning of like Yantai dialect.Based on the analyses,we assume that the constraint rankings MR,MC >> FR,FC(Markedness Constraints of Register and Contour; Faithfulness Constraints of Register and Contour)can be applied to explain not only the phenomena of tonal sandhis of Yantai dialect but also tone sandhi patterning of some other three-toned system dialects in Shandong Dialect.
