Friction and wear property of CNF/C composites reinforced by macroscopic carbon nanofiber bulks
Macroscopic CNF bulks, synthesized by chemical vapor deposition, were used to reinforce CNF/C composites.Due to their bulky feature and 3D network structure, the preparation of CNF/C avoided dispersion difficulty by impregnating matrix carbon precursor to fixed macroscopic CNF bulks.Friction test results show that the CNF/C composites have lower friction coefficients and wear loss than those of carbon bulk.It is worth mentioning that the CNF/C-22 had the lowest friction coefficient of 0.12 and wear loss of l.3mg after th friction test.In addition, the CNF/C composites show more stable than carbon bulk in friction properties. These results indicate the potential of CNF/C composites as new tribological materials.
