Both awareness of the issues and compliance with the laws are greatly improved by the industries getting together and discussing safety. These projects are also an excellent opportunity for the inspectors themselves to network with their counterparts in other jurisdictions and to gain valuable experience. Importantly, these occupational safety campaigns create opportunities for personal development for and health inspectors. They are the officers working ”at the coalface”, and project teams can compare notes and learn from each other, as well as being made aware of specific issues that exist in other jurisdictions.
