Maintenance Management of Built Assets
The concept of intelligent building becomes a challenge for building operation and maintenance professional as technology constantly advances.This transition gradually occurs as new buildings are constructed and many older facilities are renovated.Security,safety and operating systems are primary facility issues,which are becoming so metamorphosed and automated that the maintenance technician of yesterday cannot easily adapt.This,in turn,necessitates some degree of change to the maintenance staff,which must be addressed.Without reliable and sufficient knowledge of the condition of buildings,it is not possible to plan the use and management of built assets effectively.The article comments on the relevance of the above statement and identify the key factors that dictate the standard of maintenance required under a maintenance regime.
