Trust Model Evaluation Based on Parameters Modeling and Analytic Hierarchy Process
Varied trust models have been proposed recently, but there are no effective methods to evaluate and compare these trust models, making it difficult for a decision maker to select an optimal one from various trust models to implement. This paper proposes a mechanism for evaluating trust models based on parameter modeling and analytic hierarchy process (AHP).The proposed method evaluates trust models from qualitative as well as quantitative aspect with the same ten functional parameters extracted from the trust relationship.Firstly, ten attributes are extracted as evaluated parameters; the merits and demerits of typical trust models are addressed qualitatively. Then a hierarchical model for the evaluated parameters is proposed. In order to evaluate trust models quantitatively, the AHP is applied to calculate the weighted vector of ten parameters relative to the decision goal, and the overall evaluated values of candidate trust models are obtained by a weighted sum of quantized values of ten parameters. Then the optimal selection of a trust model is realized mainly based on the sorted overall evaluated values. Finally, simulation analyses in various scenarios are performed. The results show that the proposed method is effective and reasonable. Moreover, the proposed method is general and suited for the Internet of Things (IoT).
