Improvement the bioavailability of inadequate aqueous agent Herpetrione by sodium deoxycholate phospholipid-mixed nanomicelles
Herpetrione(PEDX),extracted from Herpetospcrmum caudigerum,is a novel and potent antiviral agent having hepatprotection effect. However, due to poor water solubility, oral bioavailability of the drug was relatively low.To improve the dissolution and absorption of the drug, formulation of PEDX as deoxycholate/phospholipid-mixed nanomicelles has been performed in this study.PEDX-MMs were produced by a film dispersion method.Characterization, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics were evaluated. The result indicated that MMs greatly improved the oral bioavailability of PEDX,and produced higher physiological activity. This shows that MMs is a very suitable dosage form to enhance the PEDX bioavailability.
