Synthesis and crystal structure of (+)-hydroxymethyl(4R,5S,6S)-6-”(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl”-4-methyl-7-ox o-3-” ”1-(2-thiazolin-2-yl)-3-azetidinyl” thio”-1-azabicyclo ”3.2.0” h ept-2-e ne-2-carboxylate,2-pivalate
(+)-hydroxymethyl(4R,5S,6S)-6-”(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl”-4-methyl-7-oxo-3-””1-(2-thiazolin-2-yl)-3-azetidi nyl”thio”-1-azabicyclo”3.2.0”hept-2-ene-2-carboxylate,2-pivalate(Tebipenem Pivoxil), C22H31N3O6S2, has been synthesized and characterized by IR, 1HNMR, MS, Elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction.The crystal belongs to triclinic, space group PI with a=7.7292(10), b=7.9892(9), c=11.2035(13)(A), a=108.300(7), β=92.553(7), γ=101.499(8)°, V=639.36(13)(A)3, Z=1, Mr=497.62, Dc=1.292g/cm3, λ =1.54178(A), μ(CuKa) =2.234 mm-1, F(000) =264, the final R =0.0415 and wR2 =0.1152(w ==1/σ(/F/)2).A total of 3454 reflections were collected, of which 2392 were observed with I>2σ(I).The O-H and N atoms are involved in intermolecular hydrogen bonds, which play an important part for the stability of the crstal structure.
