OCPs and PCBs in Marine Edible Fish and Human Health Risk Assessment in Shantou, China
Abstract Marine edible fish samples,including bluefin leatherjacke (Navodon septentrionalis),chub mackerel (Pneumatophorus japonicas),sardine (Sardina pilchardus) and blue scad (Decapterus maruadsi) etc.were collected from two locations near Shantou coastal waters of Guangdong province,China in May and June 2010.One is Shantou Harbor,the estuary of Rongjiang River and a busy seaport in southeast China.The other is the Haimen Bay,the estuary of Lianjiang River which flows through a famous e-waste scraping town,Guiyu.The mixed edible muscle tissues were analyzed for Organochlorine Pesticides (OCPs,including DDTs,HCHs,CHLs,HCB etc.) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).
