PCBs Levels in Hair of Children and Adolescents from Changchun, China
The objective of the study was to evaluate 30 congeners of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in human hair samples.Concentrations of the PCB congeners in the hair of 92 volunteers were determined by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS).In the children hair samples,the mean ∑PCBs was 43.65 ng g-1 (range 13.24-165.25 ng g-1).Some analytes,of which the detection frequency was lower than 50%,were mainly low chlorinated PCBs,such as PCB 74、PCB 70、PCB 66、PCB 99、PCB-114 and PCB-128.In addition,the major contributors to total PCB in the hair were PCB 28、PCB 52、PCB 180 and PCB 169,which comprised 44% of total PCB.
