Salinity tolerance,Na+ and K+ relation of hybrid bermudagrass(Cynodon transvaalensis×C.dactylon)lines under salinity stress
Breeding salinity-tolerant turfgrass became more important for turf irrigation used saline water and turf establishment in saline soil.Hybrid bermudagrass is a kind of widely used turfgrass in warm region including the transition-zone.Salinity tolerance evaluation and mechanism research was integrant to breed more salinity-tolerant hybrid bermudagrass cultivars.Three experiments were conducted to evaluation salinity tolerance variation,Na+ and K+concentration,and their relationship with salinity tolerance in 11 excellent hybrid bermudagrass lines,selected in a representative transition-zone in China,and 2 cultivars,Tifgreen and Tifgreen Ⅱ.Large genotypic variations were found in salinity tolerance (based on relative leaf firing percentage,relative shoot clipping mass and relative root mass),shoot Na+ and K+ concentrations.
