The Treatment of Psychosomatic Diseases in the Yellow Emperor Medical Canon
In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) all subjects are under the directions of the Yellow Emperor Medical Canon no matter what the specialty is.It is admitted as a canon by people of different periods who devoted themselves in medicine and nobody is out of its criterion. Actually it contains quite a lot of advanced views and techniques that are still useful till today. As a rule in treatment of diseases TCM stands on the unitary point of view to consider various conditions of the patient as a whole.One”s individualities with others such as congenital and acquired factors are considered in the treatment too.The authors summarized the Canon three great p0rinciples in treatment as treatment given depending on five temperament patterns,inquiring patient”s convenience and full understanding of patient”s situations.It is first to understand that the patterns of the personality and constitution as well as the natural and social environment of the patient.Then treatment is given according to different conditions.The three principles are essential not only in treatment but also prevention. Their application and development are more closely concerned with psychosomatic diseases.
