Assessing the Stability and Accuracy of the Identification of the Traditional Chinese Materia Medica Using DNA Barcoding:A Case Study with Flos Lonicerae Japonica

　　The identification of the traditional Chinese materia medica is very difficult,and DNA barcoding is a efficient method for species identification.However,the stability and accuracy of DNA barcoding need to further study.As a typical traditional Chinese materia medica in Chinese pharmacopoe,Flos Lonicerae Japonica was widely used in China,Japan,Korea,and countries in southeast.It plays an important role on the treatment of H1N1 influenza,hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HFMD) and severe acute respiratory syndromes(SARS).However,the Flos Lonicerae Japonica and its closely related species have been misused with a wide range of prices.
