Natural rosmarinic acid derivatives:occurrence,structural diversity and biological significance
Rosmarinc acid as an ester of caffeic acid and 3,4-dihydroxyphenyllactic acid has been widely found in the plant kingdom with various potent biological activities,attracting continuous interests from both chemists” and pharmacologists”.By research work on isolation,pharmacological screening of compounds derivated from rosmarinic acid,100 rosmarinic acid derivatives were obtained from plant manily belonging to families Lamiaceae and Boraginaceae.Those chemical constituents with both novel skeletons and biological sigificance have attracted more and more attention worldwide.
