Enthalpies of Formation and Specific Heat of selected Heusler Alloys X2YZ (X=Co,Ni;Y=Ti,Zr,Hf,V,Nb,Ta,Mn,Fe;Z=Al,Ga,In,Si,Ge,Sn)
The enthalpies of formation and specific heat of selected ternary Heusler alloy compositions X2YZ (X=Co,Ni; Y=Ti,Zr,Hf,V,Nb,Ta,Mn,Fe; Z=Al,Ga,In,Si,Ge,Sn) were measured by high temperature reaction calorimetry and drop calorimetry.The lattice parameters of the compounds with L21 structure were determined and impurity phases were analyzed using optical microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy,The x-ray diffraction pattems were simulated using CrystalMaker and CrystalDiffract in order to confirm the phases present and estimate the phase fractions.
