Global Cooperation in Materials Constitution of Inorganic Materials
Materials constitution is one of the primary fields of materials science.This scientific field investigates the relationship between chemical composition,phase composition and the structure of materials and their properties.Chemical and physical properties of materials are related to the number,composition,and distribution of the phases present.Temperature,pressure,and composition are the principal variables which determine the kinds and amounts of the phases present under equilibrium conditions.Phase equilibrium relations (presented as phase diagrams) provide the necessary fundamental information to understand the effects of these variables on the processing and on the properties of materials.
