Experimental investigation of phase equilibria in the Cu-Ni-Si ternary system
The phase equilibria in the Cu-Ni-Si ternary system were determined with the equilibrated alloys which were obtained through the procedure of arc melting,wire cutting,wrapping,heat treatment and quenching.After standard metallographic preparation,the microstructure observations,the equilibrium composition determinations and the crystal structure identifications were carried out by electron probe microanalysis and X-ray diffraction.Using the experimental data and the three binary systems data,five isothermal sections of the Cu-Ni-Si ternary system at 1073K,1173K,1273K,1373K and 1473K were obtained.
