Possibility of Irradiation induced microstructure formation in α-Al2O3

  Single crystals of α-Al2O3 were irradiated with reactor neutron and high energy electrons (1.9 GeV).Positron annihilation lifetime (PAL),coincidence Doppler broadening (CDB) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurements were performed to clarify the irradiation induced effects in α-Al2O3.
