Sansanmycin H-S, antimycobacterial uridyl peptide from Streptomyces sp.SS
Streptomyces sp.SS is a producer ofsansanmycins.Further investations of this strain led to isolation and structural elucidation of twelve new uridyl peptides,Sansanmycin H-S (1-12).Three of them bear tryptophan as C-terminal amino acid and four of them have phenylalanine in the place of Methionine,Leucine and Alanine, which both were found here for the first time in uridyl peptide antibiotics. The different amino acids in those seven compounds indicate the different adenylation domain activity of Streptomyces sp.SS from other uridyl peptides producers.
