Involvement of prostaglandin E receptor EP2 in paeoniflorin-induced human hepatoma cells apoptosis

Objective:Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) has been shown to play important roles in several aspects of tumor development and progression.PGE2 mediated its biological activity through binding to the four prostanoid receptors EP1 through EP4.The present study was designed to investigate the role of EP2 receptor in the proliferation and apoptosis of human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines HepG2,SMMC-7721 and the effect of paeoniflorin,a monoterpene glucoside.
